A few months ago, Chris, Wesley and I were on a walk when Chris informed me that he had been praying about adoption. He was unsure about telling me as he still did not know how he felt about it and he knew I'd get my hopes up. Since that day we have prayed separately and together about this. I have had my fears and reservations, but also excitement and hope. Well, fast forward a few months and we have begun our adoption journey. We have hired an adoption consultant and are beginning the process of getting everything together for our home study.
Our new adventure is certainly exciting, but scary, as well. I'm afraid of rejection and I'm afraid of the waiting. I don't know what God has for us; but I do feel that the Lord put on my heart one day that if we adopt we are part of the solution for one mama and her baby. Since that day, there was no turning back for me. I'm excited about a sibling for Wesley and another little one to love and protect and nurture.
