It's All Vanity
Yesterday I had minor surgery! Nothing major, but for the last couple of years I've had this "spot" on my right cheek under my eye. Someone told me I should get it checked out, so I called the dermatologist for an appointment. She took one look at it and said, "Oooh, yeah... we're going to have to get rid of that." She then informs me that if it's cancerous, it's the best form of cancer to have since it wouldn't have spread. Okay, that makes me feel really good! We need to send it in for a biopsy so she stuck a needle with the dermatologist's version of novacaine into the "spot." That really stung, by the way. Then, she took a razor and scraped off the top part of it to send in for the biopsy. I'm going to have to wait a week before we find out a whether it's cancerous or not. She said I have two options for removal. There is a topical cream that I can use, or it can be surgically removed. She has assured me that if we surgically remove it, the face heals very well. I hate to think I'll have a scar under my right eye for the rest of my life! Obviously I would opt for the topical cream, but I guess the biopsy and the depth of the "spot" will determine which route we go. I'll keep you posted. Until then, I'll be walking around with a half shaven off "spot" on my face. Gross!

Ugh! I'll be praying that it's easily removed, with no scar, and, of course, that it's not cancerous. If you find people starring at you in the next few weeks, at least you'll know why! :)
Thanks Jo!
